BLESSED SACRAMENT VOCATION CLUB

21st century, an era where advancement in technology spells the difference in each individual. An era where, cellular phones, palm pilots, laptops, luxury cars, and automated teller machines, Dictates a person's social status and somewhat provides personal complacency and bliss. An era where crass materialism, moral decadence, violence, AIDS, graft and corruption are ubiquitous. An era fettered by the paradox of time. While breakthroughs in Science and Technology ushers radical changes in lifestyle, there is a catastrophic price to pay. Rebellion, Murder, War, Abortion, Senseless Killings, Hazing, Falling trend in the quality of education, increasing trend of college drop-outs and street children. Is this the future?
Amidst the challenges of the present time, a group of people converged. Different People from different walks of life went in the humble castle of the Blessed Sacrament Vocation Club in Sta. Cruz Manila. These individuals surrendered their self to discern and let God be their guide on deciding on their fates.  Together they journey on a trek of personal discovery and God’s intercession in each and every individual. “It is still the same thing, the same solitude. A blessed retreat! How I needed it, and how good God is to have given it to us, in spite of ourselves. Such salutary reflections! Such new ideas! Such needed experience!”-St Peter Julian Eymard
The Blessed Sacrament Vocation Club, a mere speck from the vast infinity that awaits to embrace each and every individual. The paths they trudged on are bridges to the real world. “Perhaps, we may not converge again. Some may even fall in the chasm of failure. Only God knows. But go on. Be not afraid to take risks for the greatest risk in life is not risking anything at all…”
“The beauty of it all is that because of their commitment, they are unaware that they are building a community for themselves. Although it must not be seen as a separate community from the Congregation, it is a community still since I see the basic pre-requisites of a community present in them. I believe that there can never be a community without listening. In the BSVC, I sense that the members take time out to listen to his fellow BSVCian. A problem stops to be a personal crusade, because now someone is willing and ready to share himself just to make a difference. A community must be open to grow. The BSVC are gatekeepers or porters waiting for new members. And when a new one comes, the gatekeepers opens the gate wide to welcome them. And while we need the community to be open and inclusive to grow, we also need the commitment of members to make it stable. The BSVCians realized that they not only joined a club, they found friends!”- Father Michael Timbol, SSS
